The Curtis Fund is pleased to announce the appointment of Holly Morehouse and Sabina Haskell to its Board of Directors.

MIDDLEBURY, VT — The Curtis Fund, a supporting organization of the Vermont Community Foundation, is Vermont’s largest private provider of postsecondary scholarships. Each year, it awards scholarships to low-income and first-generation Vermonters pursuing two- and four-year degrees as well as short-term, career-focused Credentials of Value.

Holly Morehouse serves as Vice President of Community Impact at the Vermont Community Foundation and brings deep experience in philanthropy, community partnership, and statewide impact. In her role at VCF, she works to strengthen Vermont communities by advancing initiatives that expand opportunity and support long-term well-being.

Sabina Haskell serves as Executive Director of Vermont’s Office of Workforce Strategy and Development. Her background in both the public and private sectors, including service at Vermont Student Assistance Corporation, reflects a strong commitment to education, workforce development, and community engagement. She has been an active supporter of efforts to expand access to education and opportunity for young people and families across the state.

“We are thrilled to welcome Holly and Sabina to the board,” said Amy Mellencamp, Chair of The Curtis Fund Board of Directors. “Each brings valuable perspective, strong community connections, and a deep commitment to expanding opportunity for Vermonters through education and training.”

Executive Director Lauren Philie said the additions come at an exciting time for the organization. “As The Curtis Fund continues to grow its impact across the state, Holly and Sabina bring important expertise and energy to our work,” Philie said. “We are delighted to welcome them and look forward to their leadership as we continue helping more Vermonters access education and training that lead to meaningful work and brighter futures.”

The Curtis Fund was founded in 1910 and today awards approximately $2 million in scholarships annually. Its mission is rooted in the belief that financial barriers should not stand in the way of postsecondary education, career training, and long-term economic mobility.
